Action "DIGITAL POLIS-PHONY"

The action "DIGITAL POLIS-PHONY" that "Apiros" (Polyphonic Caravan) began to implement during the particular period of the pandemic is expanded also beyond its, initially, typical completion until March 2021, as a creative proposal as long as the measures of social distancing are still in effect.

The online promotion of all materials takes place through the present site, the sites and groups of the Polyphonic Caravan at facebook, its channel at YouTube as well as through a separate blog.

UNESCO WORKSHOP FOR ICH SAFEGUARDING

31 May - 4 June 2021

A workshop for the development of safeguarding plans for intangible cultural heritage in Greece is organized online from 31 May to 4 June 2021 and will be conducted by Ms Harriet Deacon and Ms Benedetta Ubertazzi, UNESCO facilitators.

A representative of "Apiros" Polyphonic Caravan was chosen to participate in the workshop, while a photo of the Polyphonic Caravan was selected for the promotion of the workshop on UNESCO's ICH website. It is one of the photos accompanying the inscription of the Polyphonic Caravan on UNESCO's Register of Good Safeguarding Practices in the field of Intangible Cultural Heritage (December 2020) and comes from a field-based recording and seminar of the Polyphony Workshop at Kefalochori village of Grammos, along with the women of Loupsiko, during the Polyphonic Caravan.

14th of May today! "POLYPHONIC SONG DAY"

Every 14th of May, since 2016, we celebrate the Polyphonic Song. We celebrate this year too but in a different way! Now that the pandemic conditions do not yet favor the meetings according to the usual way of polyphonic singing, we celebrate online! And the "Day" is extended in a really generous way!

"POLYPHONIC SONG DAYS" 2021!

Ten days of online action, communication and mutual information! From today until Sunday, 23th of May. Every day posts and "sharings" will take place. And during the last night, 23/5 at 9pm, an online concert dedicated to the "POLYPHONIC SONG DAY" will also take place!

Let's coordinate! Let's invite our friends!
And we hope for our meeting in person as soon as possible!
With the ethos (prepos) of the polyphonic song!

SINGING FOR THE MOUNTAINS!

A few days ago, the polyphonic group "Chaonia", along with members of the Polyphony Workshop, sang for the mountains in a big online concert with the title "The mountains echo". This year, we sang for Euboea, Dirfy and Xirovouni, last year we sang for Agrafa, two years ago for Mani, against the destructive installation of wind farms, even in protected areas.

The following video shows the participation at the concert. Despite the limits and deficiencies of the internet, the reason why we are singing is more important and is the one inviting us to "meet" each other online every Thursday and join our voices, even in this way, with all those that turn their agony into fight, for the protection of the place, of the mountains.
