We carry out a major update of our site.
The update includes:
... stay tuned.
"Apiros" (Infinite in Greek), the ancient, Doric name of Epirus.
"Apiros", the nonprofit organization that has been organizing since 1998 the International Polyphonic Song Festival, most known as Polyphonic Caravan.
Its purpose is to rescue, promote and disseminate Folk Polyphony.
The Polyphonic Caravan travels every summer from the heart of the Balkans to the heart of the Mediterranean, from Plovdiv of Bulgaria to Syracuse of Sicily,
with the heart of its manifestations in the Infinite Epirus.
The Polyphonic Caravan travels all four seasons, tracing the natural and social landscapes of Polyphony, conducting collective on-site
recordings and seminars inside and outside the borders.
Every summer, the Polyphonic Caravan visits Athens for a unique night, with a Great Festival of Polyphonic Song at the Theater of Petra.
Polyphonic Caravan is a multimodal, fruitful journey.
Its co-travelers, the Polyphony Workshop with the Polyphonic Songs Seminars and the Polyphonic Songs Archive created by "Apiros".
Its fruits, among others, the albums of "Apiros", the magazine "Apiros", the documentary series on The Polyphonies of the World and
Epirus Polyphony.
The Polyphonic Caravan is a great journey of voices.
A journey that is constantly restarting, with the arrival of new travelers in the oldest and most precious polyphonic tradition and expression.
What do you say, shall we co-travel?
Our site is undergoing major restructuring and update
