Record Editions
One of the priorities in “Apiros” action has been the enrichment of the limited and to a great extent exhausted discography of the genre, with the aim of wider promoting and disseminating the polyphonic song. The digital discs that “Apiros” has published so far are based on the live recordings of the first Big Polyphonic Song Concerts, which took place from 2000 to 2006. An edition made of live recordings was selected as more compatible with the conditions under which the polyphonic song is interpreted. Special attention was given to the technical adequacy of the recordings and this is why the cooperation with Giannis Smirnaios, one of Greece’s top sound mixers, was assured. The digital discs, published so far, are the following:

“Apiros” digital discs are distributed during Polyphonic Caravan’s events and their sales support the institution’s actions and financial self-efficiency. They are also available at selected record stores (for Athens, at “Xilouris” Record Store, Panepistimiou Street, as well as at the shop of the Museum of Greek Folk Musical Instruments).
